Anatomy of a Podcast Launch

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Julie Shapiro, executive producer of PRX's Radiotopia podcast network, revisits the ten tips for starting a podcast she shared at our 2017 Conference, now seeing them through the lens of Ear Hustle, the highly-acclaimed podcast she helped launch from San Quentin State Prison a few months later.  Ear Hustle hit #1 in the iTunes chart within days of launching, and in this session Shapiro deconstructs the team's approach to season one, and shares more essential advice for starting a show. Through a sound-rich sampling of Ear Hustle and other podcasts, Shapiro will also explore podcasts' particular super power: inspiring empathy in audiences. Come prepared to be moved, and to leave prepared to move others.
